Our Founder and Owner
SafeBay Security is headed up and managed “hands-on” by its founder and owner, Francois Erasmus, who
is assisted by a group of hand-picked staff to ensure a professional, stable & sustainable business to look after the security needs of each client.
Francois is well known nationally within the security industry of South Africa and have held numerous high ranking and executive management positions with national and international firms in the guarding, electronic security & surveillance and armed response industries in the Eastern Cape, Southern Cape and Gauteng.
He started his career as a permanent force military instructor within the SA Defence Force, has extensive training qualifications in the fields of occupational health & safety and served as training officer responsible for training new security officers and designing & presenting further development courses to existing security officers accross various industry sectors.
Francois has trained almost three thousand security officers, to date, deployed into the vehicle & vehicle parts manufacturers, tyre manufacturers, retail operations, transport and logistics, schools, hospitals, government & local government intitutions as well as further education institutions, warehousing, events industry and many more.
Francois has considerable experience in retail general management where he was employed as general manager within the building materials industry and has vast experience in the hotel and resort industry where he served as risk manager at the prestigeous Fancourt Hotel & Country Club Estate in George, South Africa for several years successfully.
He is furthermore a qualified Executive Close Protection Officer who has formed part of protection details for various local and international celebrities and government officials such as Mr Nelson Mandela, Mr Jacob Zuma and other high ranking officials.

He is an experienced radio presenter, martial arts & practical self defense instructor, have made several television appearances and is the author of “The Modern Close Protection Officer”, published by the (then) University of Port Elizabeth.
His credentials ensures his position as one of the most qualified, respected, experienced, established and highly ranked security specialists in South Africa across all spheres of the industry.
